prOH!mote, November 2008!

The Lowdown

November, famous for Thanksgiving and Christmas shopping (at least here in the states). Now that we’ve got the feel for the way prOH!mote competitions operate, it’s time to hone in on some more specific objectives from here on out. This month, you’ve got two different options to choose from.

The Objective

With Thanksgiving drawing near, I’m sure everyone has one thing on their minds: FOOD. Nom nom nom. Write a post in which you either:

a) Create a Thanksgiving dessert made of anime blogs. You should either use the blog’s title, or the general vibe/feel you get when reading it as your component. IE: Dirty Raptor Cupcakes could include “Baka-Raptor” and “Atarashii Prelude” as two of their components (because Baka-Raptor is a raptor, and Shin is just dirty). You should also include cooking directions. You can include real food components to round out your recipe, but use anime blogs where applicable. This one may be hard to pull off, but it’ll be fun if you manage it! Oh, our blog doesn’t have to be included in your recipe.

b) Take your family’s traditional family meal and relate it to various anime blogs around the web. IE: My family usually has a delicious honey ham that takes ages to cook, so maybe I’d relate that to OH! because it sucks away all my time, but once it’s cooked…mmm mmm good. Make sure to include how/why each blog would be that particular food. Once again, our blog doesn’t have to be included in your meal.

The beauty of these entries should lie in the “why” and in the details. A simple list of “OH! = honey ham” or “Dirty Raptor Cupcakes = Baka-Raptor+Atarashii Predule, stir” isn’t going to get you anywhere.

The Rules

For submissions to qualify, you have to at least have us on your blogroll somewhere.

Commentary about this competition should be kept within this post. Submissions to this competition should be added to the prOH!mote November 2008 submissions post (this post will go up on the 20th of November). Submissions on this post will not be considered.

The deadline for submissions is November 26th, 2008. The winner will be decided upon and posted within a week of the deadline.

EDIT: If you’re not from the states or have never celebrated Thanksgiving, you can use a typical meal/dessert from your country or one that your family commonly eats. Or, you could man up and do some research into Thanksgiving foods! Hehe.

  2. how did i know that food would be the theme of one of your competitions, Riex? haha

  3. OH! Dear, I seemed to have gotten confused. I linked this post because I wanted people to know what I was talking about when I mentioned the prOHmote competition, but I hope my linkage doesn’t count as a submission to this post.

It’s the first time I’ve attempted a post in an OH! competition, and I got muddled about this.
