Oi, Hayaku!

As Oi, Hayaku! continues to develop behind the scenes, I’m finding it increasingly difficult to devote enough time to the more menial (but no less important) tasks that are necessary for keeping this piece functioning like it should. While otou-san does help me with many of the time-devouring design and site development tasks, surprise surprise, there are even more things to be taken care of.

As such, I’ve decided to open a position for an Administrative Assistant (referred to as ‘AA’ for the majority of this post). The basic functions of this position involve the handling of a variety of tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.

If interested in the position, please carefully read the following.

You must have or be able to do the following with little to no instruction:
(by little to no instruction, I mean that you should already know how to do the following, I will obviously explain the OH! related details of each task)

• Utilize photo editing software (ie: Photoshop or GIMP) to crop pictures and insert text. Cropping does involve specific sizes, and you must be able to crop while keeping appropriate subject focus.
• Work your way around an FTP program (ie: Filezilla), mainly to upload pictures.
• Have a firm grasp of HTML and a basic understanding of CSS.
• Be familiar with Wordpress, especially the organization of tags and categories, as well as the utilization of the HTML editor.
• Be able to embed videos and other media files without the help of a plugin.
• Have a solid understanding of Wordpress custom fields.

Other requirements:

• You will have to have AIM, and be available on a fairly frequent basis. Please note that our admins live in central/eastern US.
• There will be deadlines for your tasks that you have to meet. Have to.

Suggested Extras:

• A microphone and a Skype account are not required, but would be beneficial for delegating tasks, discussing site planning and explaining duties.

As an AA, you are not required to write anything at Oi, Hayaku!. You will be given the same pay (in the form of SWAG credit…which will be discussed with applicants) as an author gets each month for performing your AA duties. You are, however, more than welcome to contribute posts (pending approval) as you wish. You will not earn any additional pay from these posts. You are also welcome to contribute in our team posts and other full-site related activities.
